I am currently reading for a D.Phil. in Engineering Science at the University of Oxford. My thesis title is Conugate Heat Transfer in High Current Density Electrical Machines.
I joined the Energy and Power Group as a Research Assistant in 2010, focusing on liquid cooled high current density electrical machines and developing novel cooling mechanisms for in-wheel hub motors. Prior to joining EPG, I worked as a research and testing engineer at Seifert Systems Malta, a company specialised in providing thermal management solutions for electronics and control cabinets, for military and industrial applications. I graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Malta in 2005, and read for an MSc. in Thermal Power - Gas Turbine Technology from Cranfield University in 2007. Throughout my MSc. thesis, I investigated a Novel Intercooled Recuperated Aero Engine making use of a heat pipe heat exchanger.
My research interests focus on thermo-fluids and heat transfer, including turbomachinery and thermal management of electronics and electrical machines.
